Indian Railways is developing Modern State of the Art coaching terminal at Baiyyapanahalli in Bengaluru. This will be India’s First Centralised AC station. Railways is developing a lot of infrastructure along with increasing the network. In the last few years, Indian Railways introduced many modern trains, which are ahead of foreign trains. Along running luxury and modern trains, construction and redevelopment work of the railway station and premises is also on next level. Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC) is turning three stations as ‘world class’ with modern amenities, which will compete with airports. At these stations, you are going to get the interior and facilities, similar to the airport.
These railway stations also include the Baiyyappanahalli station of Bengaluru. The Railway Ministry has shared pictures of this station on Twitter. It is seen in these pictures, how special the station is and how it is being developed. You might have a lot of noise, filthy feeling in the name of railway station, but this station is quite different.
Hardly anyone would have thought that now this will happen at the railway station too. The special thing of Baiyyappanahalli railway station is that it is the first such railway station in the country, which is fully AC centralised. That is, AC is installed in this entire station, where passengers wait for their trains. You will also came to know, how it looks similar to an airport. Right now only the retiring rooms are being equipped with AC, but in some days the terminals are also going to be AC centralised.
Along with fully AC centralised station, there are many other special things as well. It also has a ‘VIP lounge’ which is quite luxury, digital real time passenger information system is also installed at the station. Along with this there is also a food court, where you will find many food outlets. It is being told that about 314 crores will be spent in the construction of this station. Apart from this, the arrangements of parking 250 cars and 900 two-wheelers is being done.
Actually, the government had decided to develop Habibganj in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Baiyyapanahalli in Bengaluru and the Gandhinagar railway station of Gujarat a ‘world class’ station under the public-private-partnership model to provide airport-like, world class facilities. Since then, work has been going on for about three years and a lot of work has been done. The foundation stone of the Dholera International Airport project in Gujarat was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019.
