At the same time, after Agra Cantt.-New Delhi Intercity, there is a demand to operate Gatimaan and Taj Express. Every morning before the Corona epidemic, the Gatimaan and Taj Express were operated from New Delhi. This train was suitable for tourists, because in the morning tourists used to come by these trains and in the evening used to go back to Delhi.
However, both train operations have been suspended since the lockdown. Now maximum 5,000 visitors have been allowed to enter the Taj Mahal in a day. However, due to lack of tourists, these numbers are not being fulfilled in Taj Mahal on most of the day. In such a situation, tourism businessmen are demanding to run both trains. Rakesh Chauhan, president of the Hotel and Restaurant Association, says that Agra attracts a large number of tourists from Delhi. In such a situation, the operations of Gatimaan and Taj Express should be resumed.
Rajiv Sharma, Secretary, Tourism Guild of Agra said that, this will increase the number of tourists because most of the tourists are coming by the road. If the operation of Gatimaan and Taj Express starts, then surely the number of tourists will increase.
