NER to run ultra-luxurious Vistadome coaches on Mailani-Nanpara route passes through Dudhwa National Park

Tourists traveling in the ultra-luxurious Vistadome coach with transparent glass ceilings and large glass windows, enjoying the natural beauty of forest while passing through the Dudhwa National Park. The North Eastern Railway to introduce the Vistadome coaches for the first time on the section of the Mailani-Nanpara (Meter Gauge) in collaboration with the Department of Tourism. It is expected that by March, two Vistadome coaches will reach Mailani from Mumbai Parel Workshop. In this Vistadome coach, 40 tourists will travel in a chaircar bogie. Dr. Monica Agnihotri, DRM of North Eastern Railway, informed about important projects for the next financial year.

The DRM said that Rs 60 crore has been allocated in the Pink Book for the double line project from DaliGanj to Malhaur. Railway electrification is also taking place along with the gauge conversion work on Aishbagh-Pilibhit railway section. The NOC of the Forest Department is awaited in the electrification of Lakhimpur-Mailani railway section. It will be electrified by June this year. A new coaching complex will be formed for maintenance of trains. The DRM informed that yard remodeling and passenger facilities at Gomti Nagar station will be developed with Rs 40 crore, while 100 crore has been allocated for Aishbagh-Pilibhit gauge conversion work.

Lucknow Rail Division has achieved revenue of Rs 58.92 crore by selling 16 thousand tons of scrap including 39 diesel rail locomotives in 2020-21, which is the highest in any railway division across the country. This year the Lucknow Railway Division has reduced its expenses by Rs 350 crore. Timing of trains has also increased to 97 percent in fog. However, due to the over run of animals by trains, there are also obstacles in their operation. Trains standstill for hours due to damage to the hose pipe and angle cock by animal hitting. In January last month, there were 67 cases of animals hitting in the Division. The average speed of goods trains was earlier 24.82 kilometers per hour. It has reached now 45.05 kilometers per hour.
