Indian Railways started preparations to regularise passenger/express train services

Indian Railways is going to run all regular trains soon as before. After the budget, all regular trains will start running by March at the zonal level. Due to COVID-19, rail services across the country were affected since March 2020, all passenger train services were suspended. Passengers are still waiting for regular train services. At present, railway is operating festival and COVID-19 special trains on different routes of the country. Railways are running only 65 percent of total trains across the country. The rest of the trains will start running soon.

If railway sources are to be believed then all the mail/express and passenger trains across the country can return back on track after the budget. Railway budget is going to come along with the general budget on 1 February. GMs of all zones of the railway have been asked to complete the preparations on their behalf. Right after the budget, the railways is preparing to run 100 percent trains and going to give a big relief to the passengers. By March, all regular trains will start running for the convenience of passengers.

Railways have started increasing the number of trains on different routes gradually. The number of local trains in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai has gradually become the same. Now, in view of the shortage in Corona cases, the number of passenger trains will be increased in different zones after the budget. Instructions have been given at the zonal level from the Railway Board that in view of the demand for trains, railways will start operating trains once again on those routes as before.
