Haridwar Kumbh 2021: Trains to be operated in every half hour, special trains will run if congestion increased

Railway administration is also preparing for Haridwar Kumbh Mela. For the convenience of devotees, trains will be operated for major stations every half hour in Kumbh. Around 48 trains will operated in 24 hours. At the same time, for the convenience of the pilgrims, the operation of the closed regular trains has also been started. Fair special trains will also run if the devotees increases.

Kumbh will begin on February 27 by the Uttarakhand government. Therefore, the works of permanent and temporary nature are being finalized by the Railways. The entire emphasis of railway administration is on crowd control. For this, a holding area has been created in the Jhanda Mela ground of the station. According to the railways, there are also plans to deploy four thousand railwaymen at Haridwar, Laksar and Rishikesh station to operate the trains and arrangements in Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021. A half thousand TTE and inquiry personnel will deployed for convenience of passengers.

Moradabad Railway Division (Northern Railway) ADRM N.N Singh said that the preparations by railway administration is completed. Trains will be operated according to the status of reservation in trains. Accordingly, additional personnel will also be arranged if required.

Along with the commissioning of the flyover in the city before Kumbh, the police has now started drawing the traffic arrangements for (snan) bath and the (Shahi snan) royal bath in the same manner. Normal traffic will continue through the flyover during bathing hours, while service lanes can be left for devotees. At the same time, movement can also be stopped at the flyover during (Shahi snan) royal bath. There is also focus on that both Kumbh Mela and common traffic keep running smoothly.

The city has received a grand gift in the form of five flyovers before the Kumbh Mela begins. Three major flyovers have been commissioned. Two flyovers services will begin very soon. So far, only Makar Sakranti Snan festival has been completed before Kumbh. Keeping in mind the experience of bathing festival, the local police administration is now preparing a traffic plan for flyovers and new bypass routes. Kumbh CO/Traffic Prakash Deoli said that the flyover at the bathing grounds of Kumbh is being considered to be kept open for normal traffic.
